“Impressive large hotel”
We stayed on the 59th floor, so the views were great, though the weather in Wuhan was gloomy and the skyscrapers vanished into fog. The hotel occupies the first six floors, the rooms are on the top dozen, and the business guests are in the middle with a separate entrance and lifts. The high floor meant the elevator took a long time to reach the rooms and the facilities, and that delayed adjusting the shower temperature. Having the metro station directly from the lobby was handy, and the line goes to both Wuhan and Wuchang railway stations. Big thanks to the lovely Nepalese staff member who showed us how to use the metro and buy tickets. The pool on the sixth floor was large with a nice view, as was the breakfast room. Breakfast was mostly Asian but had enough western options. The restaurant on the fifth floor had limited western‑recognizable dishes. USB‑A sockets and mains power sockets for European 2‑pin plugs were by the bed. This is modern China: get used to sharing the lift with a robot doing room service! We had a nice snack in the lounge‑bar near the lobby; the food was good but a draft from the air conditioning made it uncomfortably cold. The music was too loud for conversation and not as pleasant as the gentle Chinese ambient music in other places. Most staff needed Google Translate, and Alipay was required for most purchases.
