Safari Lodge at Back to Basic

“Een zeer prettig en aangenaam back to basic verblijf”

The accommodation was well-equipped and tidy, and communication with the owners was excellent; questions were answered immediately. There was an option to rent bicycles, which was very convenient. Anything missing was promptly delivered or resolved. Nothing was unsatisfactory.

The location was fine. There was no kitchen, only a small stove, and the fridge was very small, which made a three‑day stay with a baby difficult.

“Leuk maar niet voor langere tijd.”

The tent was clean and tidy. We slept on a road that apparently had a lot of cars passing by at night, which was very noisy. It was also cold at night, but we were prepared.

“Wunderbar”

It’s a nice small campsite where you can have peace. The kids could play relaxed, and we kept an eye on everything from the terrace. We brought an air fryer and bought groceries at the supermarket nearby, so we had an ideal luxury holiday. We stayed two nights on site. It took 20 minutes by car to reach the beach. The bath and shower were excellent—warm water, great pressure, and the toilet was super clean. The bed was comfortable, and the kids liked the loft beds. Everything was great, with no criticisms.

“Demasiado frío por la noche en Abril-Mayo”

The place is pretty, and the kids loved the trampoline. In summer it would be a completely different experience, but in April nights were still very cold. I guess it was our fault, but we hadn’t realized this was a tent with no heating system, and the temperature dropped dramatically at night—maybe 5‑7 degrees in April‑May. It hits you in the bones. They do give electric blankets, but even then it’s not enough; if you get up or move a bit, you freeze, and you feel it again when you get up. The cabins next door had a wood‑stove heating system, but of course that doesn’t work for a tent.
