“I thought the stay was great with great hosts and was homely and comfortable”
The place felt very homely and comfortable. I didn’t find much I didn’t like, and it served my purpose.
“Lovely break in Somerset”
We had a wonderful stay at Watermead Hotel in Chard. Both Jamie and Gary were fantastic hosts, and the hotel is first‑class, from the central location to the comfortable and exceptionally clean room to the delicious breakfast. They have thought of everything, and their thoughtful little touches and helpful advice on the surrounding areas make for a very pleasant stay. You won’t be disappointed!
The guesthouse is beautifully clean, with the nicest hosts. Breakfast was delicious, and the house was comfortable and cosy.

The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy, with very comfortable beds and great in‑room technology. Breakfast was superb, offering a wide range of choices, especially the daily specials. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. The only minor inconvenience was that, when it was very quiet late at night or early in the morning, I could occasionally hear guests in nearby rooms talking or watching television. This is understandable since the hotel is a converted house, and it did not detract from an otherwise excellent stay.
The hosts were lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. The facilities, rooms, and decor were beautiful. The only criticism was that the bed was a little hard, but that’s just my personal preference. I would come back in a heartbeat.
