The hotel was quiet with an adjacent spa.

The hotel was clean, close to the saltworks, and the food was good at both breakfast and the restaurant.

The location is unbeatable, right in Turda’s main square with plenty of cafés and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is comfortable and well run; even as a 3‑star it feels higher quality than expected. Breakfast is generous and better than what the category usually offers. The blackout curtains could be more effective because a lot of light pours in early in the morning. Outside of the Salina Turda, the city itself has only a few tourist sights.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, which was a bright spot. We stayed for 6 days in an apartment with two adults and two kids, but the experience fell far below what we’d expect from a hotel of this level. Breakfast was good and varied, and towels were changed daily. However, many aspects were confusing: the bathroom door didn’t lock, which is a major inconvenience for a four‑person apartment. The balcony, though long, wasn’t a usable space for morning coffee, so I ended up drinking mine in the hotel hallway to avoid disturbing others. Housekeeping was a huge let‑down; staff entered the room daily, took out the trash and swapped towels, yet the room was never truly cleaned and the bed linen wasn’t changed at all. The closet had extra pillows but no sheets, raising obvious hygiene concerns. Another unpleasant surprise was the extra charge for pool access, with higher weekend rates that felt excessive. After paying for the stay, having to pay separately for the hotel pool was a first for us. Parking at the hotel is extremely limited; if you’re lucky you get one spot, otherwise you must find elsewhere. Overall, aside from the decent breakfast, the stay was disappointing. I don’t think the demands for cleanliness, linen changes, privacy in an apartment, parking, and reasonable access to facilities are over‑the‑top; for a family with two kids, the price‑to‑comfort‑service ratio was unsatisfactory.
