I loved every detail of Haast Beach Motel and wish we’d stayed another night. The two‑bedroom apartment was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. The sunset over the private beach was spectacular, and the sunrise over the mountains behind the property was equally breathtaking. The host was friendly and informative, making the place feel like a home away from home. I’ll definitely return.

The motel surprised me in a good way; it’s in a remote spot, but Haast is remote by definition. The rooms were cozy and fully equipped, and little extras like cookies, makeup remover kits, and good coffee were a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable and the room stayed warm. The setting is unique, with a beach on one side and the Haast Pass mountains on the other, giving amazing sunsets over the beach and stunning sunrises over the peaks. Horses and sheep added to the charm. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel like family. I’d stay again if I ever find myself in Haast. Thanks.

Convenient for our trip, the hotel sits across the road from the Tasman Sea beachside, offering a lovely walk. It’s away from the township, so it’s quiet. Everything was great.

The location is fantastic, with the sea just across the dunes for easy access and mountains behind. We had a bedroom with both front and back views, so the view to wake up to was perfect. All the facilities were as advertised and well set up, and we could park our car right in front, so no distance for carrying bags. The host was very helpful and we enjoyed our stay. A few sandflies on the beach were unavoidable and didn’t bother us in the room. It was clear there aren’t many restaurants nearby, but planning ahead solved that.
