“We liked it, but beware of the negatives that I’ve described.”
The views were great, and the old historic building had modern fixtures. The rooftop terrace was a great spot for wine and cheese (but you need to bring your own, since it’s a BnB, not a hotel). The location was near many old city sites. The downside was the stairs—everywhere you went, from the bedroom to the toilet, there were stairs. They’re quite risky, and the bedroom lighting can’t be turned off at night, so you might need a sleep mask. Getting to the hotel from the nearest taxi or car drop‑off takes a 15‑minute walk on cobblestones, followed by 105 steps to reach your room. It’s a good spot for people in their 20s or 30s, but if you’re in your 60s or 70s, you might need a porter, and if you’re older, overweight, or have bad knees, it’s probably better to stay elsewhere.
