The owners were lovely and friendly, and the breakfast was authentically French.

The place is relatively quiet, the pool is pleasant, and the setting is nice. When I first called, I asked if there was a fridge in the room because of the current heat; they said no but offered to keep our belongings in their fridge if needed. Later, my wife received a call from Patrick, our host, who said he couldn’t find our reservation. After a bit of searching he eventually located it and then asked if we could arrive after 17h instead of 16h because his wife, Javote, was visiting her daughter. We had no problem and adjusted our schedule to help them out. In return, we asked if we could keep the room a bit longer on the day of departure, which was accepted. Upon arrival, Patrick welcomed us, but when he saw my wife, he stepped back (she is black). When his wife joined us, she seemed hesitant to shake my hand, which made us very uncomfortable. The next day we returned from a restaurant they had kindly recommended; to our surprise, everything was under alarm, making it impossible to go outside as hostilities had started. On the day of departure, at 11 h 05, we knocked on the door to be reminded that the departure was scheduled for 11 h. We reminded them of the agreement for a slightly later departure. They replied that it was not possible, that we had to check out, and that “the time is the time.” We didn’t insist and left the premises. The lady didn’t even bother to greet us; only her husband came down to say goodbye, claiming he wasn’t aware of the situation. We are especially disappointed by the lack of consistency between the promises made and their fulfillment, as well as the overall reception that left a very negative impression.
