Paradise Lakes Motel Shepparton

“Very Disappointed.”

The room was clean, though the bed wasn’t very comfortable. The photos you see online are nothing like the actual place; it’s very run‑down, the garden and grass areas are overgrown, and you can’t walk outside the unit toward the lake because of the long grass. There’s no street lighting when you come down the main highway, so we missed the place, turned around, and had to come back. A massive pothole in the driveway. Overall, the place was nothing like I expected—very disappointed. The guy couldn’t find the booking when we arrived, and the unit door required a struggle with the key and handle to open, and again to lock up when leaving.

“Value for money”

The location is excellent and the staff are pleasant. The pillows were the worst I’ve ever slept on, but that won’t stop us from staying again—just bring our own pillows.

“Fantastic location and great size units.”

I drove past the entrance because the signage was unclear, even though I stay here once a year, and there's a pothole in the driveway that needs fixing.

“Poor”

The location is fine. The bed pillows outside were poor, long grass, broken roof tiles in the garden, and a poster on the room door that’s 20 years old.

The reception guy was friendly and helpful, but the beds were made with clean sheets and vacuumed, yet the furniture and decor hadn't been cleaned properly—no bleach smell to indicate a thorough clean. The electric blanket felt like it was 100 years old and used at your own risk. The spa lacked the proper drain plug, so it was unusable. The motel grounds were overgrown, and with snake season approaching, that could be dangerous. I had to hunt for the kettle, coffee, and sugar, which were hidden in a cupboard. The air conditioner made weird noises randomly. The place really needs a good handyman or groundskeeper because the outdoor facilities are in poor shape. It's way overpriced for what you get; probably a good motel for cheating partners to meet since no one would go, and it's on the edge of town.
