We were looking for an affordable place near Laax village centre for two nights, and the room at Pension Waldheim delivered exactly what we expected.

Even though no one was present for check‑in or check‑out (apparently a growing trend for cost reasons), everything was well organized and ran smoothly. The host family reached out after I arrived to make sure I was okay and offered a breakfast for CHF 22 the next morning, which I gladly accepted and didn't regret. The room’s furnishings were a bit Spartan but functional and tidy. Because the hosts were absent, the stay felt somewhat impersonal—meeting someone over breakfast made it more pleasant.

Everything was fine – the rooms were comfy and well kept, and the host was really warm. The breakfast buffet was nice, especially the Bircher muesli, though a spread would have been welcome. All good for this type of place, would stay again.

This little gem in Laax offers great value – it’s my second stay at Waldheim and the simple, snug rooms have everything a skier needs. Parking is right in front, the bus stop is just two minutes away, and there’s a dedicated ski‑gear storage room. The mountain view is the best part and it never feels like a hotel; thanks to Steffi for a nice stay and letting me keep practicing my skiing.
