“Couldn’t recommend enough! Well and truly exceeded expectation on all fronts!”
I was amazed to see that Drifter isn’t a perfect 10, yet it still delivered a flawless experience for my family. The ski‑in, ski‑out setup is perfect, and the accommodation is clean, safe, and warm. My kids, ages 7 and 4, found the runs easy to access. The house comes stocked with games and internet for Netflix, Disney, etc., and the facilities are modern, clean, and meet Western standards—private bathroom, cooking area, laundry, and drying rooms—while still reflecting Japanese style. There were plenty of plates, bowls, cutlery, and cooking utensils. The house also has a coffee machine, hot water for ramen, and an old Asahi vending machine whose prices reflect the year it was made. Chris, the host, made our stay even better by being readily available with all the local info, ski hire, lift tickets, and even chauffeuring us. He helped with grocery runs, dropped us off at the mountain, and drove my daughter and me to the hospital when she injured her leg skiing. This was the first of many trips to Myoko Suginohara for our family staying at the Drifter, and I can’t recommend it more highly.
