“Lovely clean family run hotel with wonderful staff - would recommend for couples or small families”
The staff were truly wonderful, friendly, and helpful—they’re the stars of the hotel. The hotel itself was spotless, housed in a beautiful old apartment block with gorgeous marble stairs and floors in the main building, and I loved the old‑style elevator. My room was lovely and clean, with a large bed, crisp white sheets, and plenty of towels. Hairdryer, shampoo, and shower gel were supplied. A small fridge and kettle were in the room, though the breakfast buffet only had ordinary tea bags and no milk in the rooms. The room had air‑conditioning and a fan. Breakfast was small, continental style but pleasant. Overall, it’s a wonderful hotel, but some quirks might not suit everyone. As a solo female traveller, I felt the hotel was in a too quiet area on a very dimly lit street—especially after dark. I walked back alone after meeting friends for dinner (around 10:30 pm) and the area near the hotel felt deserted, with sections so dark I could barely see the footpath, which made me nervous. I usually stay in hotels with some nightlife around them at night, as it feels safer. I loved the hotel, but the walk from the main reception to the bedrooms (through a door into a large stairwell, up three floors in the lift, out onto a landing with private apartments, through a security door to the bedroom area using a swipe card, then a short walk to your room and another swipe to enter) is a bit of a distance if the swipe card doesn’t work or if you need a drinking glass, none of which are provided in the room. Breakfast was lovely and sufficient, though I know my husband would have found it a little small.
