"Ak-Bulun" Yurt camp

I had an awesome night in a yurt—slept like a dream, the hosts were friendly, and the homemade breakfast was tasty. Huge thanks!

If you want to feel how people lived a century ago, this place is a must. Roadwork makes it a bit hard to find, but the yurt sits close to the beach, near a small house. The dinner was a perfect 10, breakfast was just wow. Rabbits hop around, you can watch birds, and swim in Issyk Kul. The host and her family are very welcoming, and the daughter is just brilliant. So if you want to disconnect a bit and stay in a yurt over 100 years old, come here ♥️

The yurt accommodation was authentic and great. I was curious what it would feel like and everything matched my expectations. The yurt was very clean, and its closeness to the beach made swimming easy. The owner cooked a fantastic dinner and breakfast for us. Thanks to the whole family for the very nice hospitality. If I ever pass by, I’ll definitely stop again.

“Lovely family homestay”

This was the highlight of our trip. The hosting family is so lovely and kind, they made us an amazing dinner and breakfast. The daughter made sure we had everything we needed and we enjoyed speaking English with her. Adorable! The location is also great, right by Issyk Kul lake. We had a lovely morning swim. Don’t hesitate, just book! You will not regret it :)

Living in a real yurt was cool, it wasn’t cold—the warm blankets did the trick. Breakfast was very filling, always tasty sea buckthorn tea, and the lunches and dinners were great value at 500 som each. The owners clearly use quality ingredients. The spot is near the highway on one side, which is convenient, but on the other side it’s noisy; the road construction will finish soon and it should improve. The surrounding area isn’t very fancy, but the lake is only 200 m away—a great sandy beach with fine sand, safe for kids, and the water warms quickly. It even felt warmer than in Cholpan‑Ata, where I stayed a few days earlier. You can walk to the cape, where there’s a lookout tower and you can see red‑list birds and swans. The owners kindly lent a binocular for one of the hikes. Overall, the welcome was very warm, they tried to help with everything—thanks a lot, Elvira and Ermek! Rahmat!
