Sunbathing on the Saale-Bogen and tucked against the mountain, with no traffic passing by, and right on the frequent hiking routes. The kitchen offers regional and hearty portions at a reasonable price instead of long names and “nothing” on the plate. Like every hotel, not all rooms have a “sea view”; for longer stays try to book rooms with a view of the Saale.

Breakfast was okay. The location is isolated; without a car you can’t get away. The room was old-fashioned and small, had no comfortable seating, the lighting was too dark. The sink had been broken several times, there were no storage options in the bathroom, and the bathroom fan was far too loud.

The location was great, the staff were friendly, and the kitchen was very good and flexible, even with the dishes. The restaurant stayed open all day until 10 pm. The hiking options from the hotel were excellent, and we really enjoyed the scenic routes and the beautiful landscape. We’ll definitely come back.
