The hotel is only a five‑minute walk from Jianguomen metro station, and while it isn’t modern, it’s clean, comfortable, and the beds are cozy; however, you can’t pay with European cards—Visa and MasterCard are listed but don’t work, so you must use Chinese payment methods or cash, and the staff don’t speak English.

The staff’s kindness, sweetness, and grace, along with the convenient location near all services, a thousand restaurants, supermarkets, and the metro, made my stay delightful; the blackout curtains, comfortable beds, and shower‑toilet combo were great, and jasmine tea and water were available; housekeeping could be scheduled flexibly; the ground floor has a game room that can also be used for lunch if you bring take‑out. The rooms and building feel smaller and more used than the photos, and there’s no fridge in the room, but everything else is still perfect; the staff, like everywhere, don’t speak English but use a translator and are literally exquisite, graceful, and extremely friendly; note that the shower is integrated with the toilet.

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Golden Inns; the hotel is older and the rooms are simple with just the essentials, but I didn’t expect much given how affordable it is for such a great location. What really stood out was the incredible five‑star service—the staff were kind, attentive, and always helpful. When we struggled to reach our tour guide and find a taxi, they stepped in each time with a smile.
