The location is amazing, the AC worked very well, and the self‑check‑in was smooth.
“Recomendable 100%”
I would stay at the hotel again if I return to Bilbao. It’s central, in a good area, close to the metro, and overall complete. The price per night is high, but for Bilbao it’s reasonable. The wait for check‑in was frustrating. Even though I had booked almost a year in advance and knew that check‑in was at 14:00, we were not informed that the reception was not open 24 hours until we were practically at the door, forcing us to go to another place just to notify our arrival. Once there, they assured us that at exactly 14:00 we would receive the access codes (something that is usually provided in advance). However, after notifying them at 13:40, we were left waiting until 14:30 and only received the codes after sending them two urgent messages, because we had scheduled commitments. The most frustrating part was that there was no queue or other guests waiting; we were the only ones.
The hotel sits in the historic quarter of the city, right next to eateries, pubs and the main sights of Bilbao. The opening hours differ from what I expected in Spain: most cafés and restaurants stay closed until 10:00, shut again at 14:00, and then reopen from around 18:00 until about 22:30.
The central location in the Old Town was excellent. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff were accommodating and friendly through WhatsApp. When we needed an iron, they brought it straight from a nearby location. The shower was clean and lovely. The only downside was the noise that continued late into the early hours, but we were so exhausted that it only slightly disrupted us.
“Convenient and good value .”
The location is great, the place is clean and functional, and the entrance area is lovely. The air conditioning didn’t work, and although the helpful girl tried to fix it, she couldn’t, so she gave us a fan that stopped after 10 minutes. She apologized profusely, which was appreciated.
