Amarcord Skola

It felt like stepping into the early twentieth century, in a house or school of our ancestors, evoking a nostalgic vibe. The décor was richly detailed, the place was clean, cozy, and the hostess was nice. A cat visits in the morning and at night, meowing for food and hissing if you get too close. The school is in an excellent spot, near popular beaches, yet quiet and sheltered. A wonderful stay with warm recommendations! There’s nothing to dislike.

I stayed at Super Hostel and it had everything you could want: a fully set kitchen with spices, oils, even fruit, an outdoor kitchen overlooking the sea, and a washing machine you could use. Towels were hung out back and everything was free.

If you crave peace, isolation, and simplicity, Amarcord Skola is perfect. It’s located by the sea, close to two decent restaurants and a shop, and the kitchen is great and well-equipped for cooking yourself. The rooms are basic but charming, with painted wooden floors and simple wooden beds, and the bathrooms are clean with good hot showers—though the towels feel more like beach towels than fluffy ones. Mosquito screens are on the windows. Overall, Skola feels heart‑warming and no‑frills. The owner, Bea, runs the best bar and restaurant at Sakarun Beach and offers Skola guests a lunch discount. Wi‑Fi was good. The only downside: if you can’t sleep without air‑con, you’ll struggle—trying to point the fan at all three of us was difficult.
