The room was very spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were very friendly, but the older hotel showed a little.

The overall layout was good; all rooms opened onto a large hall that gave a very safe feeling, and from our floor we had a nice view. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff were mixed; the lady at the bar on the first night was downright grumpy, but the male bartender on the second night was much friendlier and helpful, chatting with all guests. The hotel was a bit farther (in terms of travel time) from downtown Chicago, which was a bit of a disappointment and cost a lot of travel time.

“Had a great time!”

The breakfast was phenomenal, the staff were wonderful, and the hotel itself was beautiful. The pool, however, could have been cleaner; there was a pile of dirt and debris and even used bandaids on the floor.

I enjoyed the evening reception and drink vouchers—they were a great way to show guest appreciation. When I asked for a blanket for the couch, I was told it would arrive soon, but 30‑40 minutes later I called back after midnight and the staff were unsure if they had one because they were checking in a guest. I was left wondering whether to sleep or wait, and only 15 minutes later someone finally brought it. On the second day, the shower water was cold.
