I thought the place was cute, but the front desk guy told me the manager had called to cancel my reservation because someone else wanted it, even though my confirmation email still showed it as active. I booked through Booking, received no emails or updates, and had to scramble to buy camping gear because no other rooms were available in the area. I had secured the room for 2/1/26 to guarantee a stay.

Just a few blocks from Western Colorado University, everything is walkable from the hostel, and the atmosphere feels like a living art installation—beautiful inside and out. I’ve never stayed at a hospital before, and I can’t say enough good things about this place; I would absolutely stay here again. The downside is there’s no air conditioning, so the windows must stay open in summer, and the grill is used a lot, right above the bed, so early‑night chatter is constant. Also, someone smoked the night before I left, and the smell seeped through the back window by my bed.

The vibe was amazing, I loved the interior design, and the staff were very memorable and helpful. Cruising around on one of the house bikes was a dream come true, but there wasn’t enough silverware.
