Hotel Orquidea

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is centrally located, the rooms were clean and comfortable with a balcony offering fantastic city and sea views, breakfast was very complete, and the rooftop pool was scenic. The breakfast room was small and not very comfortable. Although there is no on‑site parking, there is a low‑cost parking spot just 2 minutes from the hotel.

“Great value for money, close to Funchal centre, a clean and well kept hotel.”

The place was clean and smart with friendly staff, but the bed was a bit hard.

“Comfortable hotel not too far from the old town and waterfront.”

The rooftop pool and restaurant area were nice with great views of Funchal, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Housekeeping arrived late in the day, which was inconvenient because we had expected the room to be serviced earlier while we were out.

“Disappointing”

I liked the location. The restaurant toilet was badly blocked, breakfast options were limited, staff were angry and unhelpful, and it was too expensive for what we received.

“Un bel hôtel”

The location and large air‑conditioned room were great. The night watchman was unpleasant, the breakfast staff didn't say hello or smile, and they pushed people to throw food onto the buffet as if it were mandatory.
