I stayed at Marriott Oceana Palms in Palm Beach, FL in one of their two‑bedroom suites, and I’ve never experienced such a frustrating and unprofessional situation at a Marriott property. I had already paid in full, but when I checked in, the front desk said they needed my card for “incidentals.” Instead of just placing a small hold, they charged me again for the entire stay! When I went down to fix it, a staff member named Haley told me she would “take care of it” and that I’d see the refund within two hours. Of course, no refund ever appeared. The next morning, to make things worse, I saw that they charged me AGAIN — now I had been billed twice for a room that was already paid for. I went back to the front desk again, and the manager was completely unhelpful. His response was, “I don’t know what happened,” and then told me he couldn’t refund me right away because he had to “check me out first.” When I agreed and told him to go ahead, he said it doesn’t work that way and that he needed to “talk to his business partners.” What kind of answer is that? I left feeling angry, confused, and out a large amount of money with no clear resolution. It’s unbelievable that a Marriott resort would mishandle payments like this and leave guests to deal with the mess. Be very careful if you stay here — double‑check your credit card charges. This experience completely ruined what should have been a relaxing stay. I will not be returning to this property, and I highly recommend booking elsewhere unless you want to spend your vacation arguing over billing mistakes.

I booked a 5‑star stay but it turned out to be a timeshare. No valet, no decent on‑site restaurant, and breakfast was just plastic boxes with no daily housekeeping. The only 5‑star feel was the inflated price.

The location was spot‑on—just a stroll to shops and snorkeling spots, and the 4th of July fireworks were a sight from the view. Activities, beach, pools, mini‑soccer, crafts, and the beach were all within the building’s walk. It felt like a community, and the staff were friendly at every level. Karaoke night was a highlight. I cooked in my room because of food allergies, and everything I needed was there. The finale offered a spectacular view of fireworks from surrounding areas and the main marina show. We’re definitely returning.

I liked the beachside location, but the drinks were awful—bartender couldn’t make a cocktail. Our room wasn’t ready until late, and we were forced to check out at 10 am. For the price, the experience didn’t justify it, and although they promised a day pass for the early checkout, we never received it.
