The spot was spot-on. Room 311 was gorgeous – spacious, with a huge comfy bed, pillows, a sofa, and a big bathroom. The room was set up fast and neatly, and we loved the daily towel animals. Every staff member made things easy, especially the front desk guys who were super helpful. The bellboys in the little buggy were friendly and accommodating, driving us wherever we wanted. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of options and attentive staff, especially Farbod who took great care of us, remembered our daily hot drinks and omelettes, and was very charming. I highly recommend it. The hairdryer was a real hassle: a short cord made it hard to control, and you had to keep pressing the button to keep it on, which is painful if you’re drying long, thick hair. It blew like a hurricane, just like the one in our friends’ room, and I expected a better one in a luxury hotel. It’s a minor annoyance but matters on vacation. There weren’t enough coat hangers – I asked for more but never got them. Finally, there was no place to sit and have a drink when it was cold and rainy, which it was during our stay. The little bar was outside, so we couldn’t sit at the end of the evening at the hotel; we’d have liked a nightcap and then to head straight upstairs.

The location was great, the rooms were good with nice bathrooms, but the stairs were steep so we struggled with our luggage. We stayed on the street side with the minaret nearby – if you’re sensitive to noise, pick a room facing the garden. We liked it anyway. The spa was closed for renovation. The taxi couldn’t find the hotel, so we wandered around Old Town for a long time. The road was closed because it’s a protected cultural area, which caused confusion.

The location was excellent, close to the major sights in Sultanahmet, and the rooms were well equipped.
