The view of the mountain was great! The room itself matched the pictures. The staff were friendly and the grounds were well kept. They cleaned the room daily, which was nice. (Small suggestion—offer guests the “do not disturb” sign if they don’t want this service some days.) The value was decent compared to other spots. The location was a bit more remote than we expected, but that’s on us—just a warning. You definitely need wheels to get anywhere, but that’s most of the island. Oddly, almost nothing faces the mountain; the best view is from the parking lot, which confused me. It’s unlikely your room actually has a mountain view even if it’s labeled as such. The pictures are a bit old—one reason I chose this room was for a private hammock on my balcony, but there wasn’t one even though it was in the pictures. They have a restaurant, but it’s not great—no menu, just options off the top of their heads. Prices had to be discussed among the staff first, always a bit weird. We wanted to eat there, but after the long trip we just wanted a smoothie. The worst smoothie in the three weeks I’ve been in Nicaragua. Very small, 100 Cordobas, watery and tasteless, so we didn’t try again. The two places down the road were bigger, better, and cheaper. Too bad!
