The location was great, right in the heart of the city with easy access to all corners, plenty of beautiful spots, and many restaurants and cafés nearby. The accommodation itself was disappointing compared to the photos on Booking. On arrival, a confident, almost “tough” waitress—who probably already knows the owner from a phone call—greeted us, showing off her dominant style and making me a little uneasy. She sat on a chair with one leg propped up, seemed to have everything on a hook, but was missing a gum in her mouth. After a quick walk to the stairs, she blew out 50 words per minute with all the info she needed to give, as if she wouldn’t waste any time with us. We arrived at 19:00, the bar was empty, which I could understand if she had guests at the bar. We were on the third floor. On the way to the room, the stairs felt like walking through a museum of “everything you can collect in life or look at in a landfill,” and some exhibits frightened our son so much he was afraid to fall asleep. At certain points, she seemed to open her mouth, as if the owner really meant it. Everyone has different expectations for accommodation, but I’ve never seen anything like this. The first impression was that it needed a serious clean‑up. The closer we got to the room, the more afraid I was of what awaited behind the door. Opening the room, a breath of fresh air, I held my breath. We felt like we had gone back 50 years. What I found will be useful. The curtains were tied up with remnants of cloth that reminded me of a bridal hall. The bedding was the same, and I’d only seen something like this in an ’80s film. Concrete cracks that were supposed to look like wood were left unfinished. The beds seemed like a UK workers’ hostel. Pillows in many shapes, no comments about the room’s equipment. The bathroom looked clean at first glance, but I didn’t have the courage to shower. The mattress had a printed hole. In the end, we accepted that it was just for sleeping, and we would leave the next morning.

The location is great, right in the centre so everything is a short walk away, the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious and clean. The inn is older and that shows in the bathroom fittings, but the staff clearly take good care of it, so everything was fine. I appreciate the fridge in the room, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
