Sea‑view rooms offer unbeatable views; it’s so good you’ll get hooked and sit for hours. The location is great. The shower water pressure was weak, so it felt like dancing in the rain.

The room matched the description and the locals were friendly, and the wave was right outside the door. But this isn’t a hotel; it’s just a room in a building—no reception, no common area, no kitchen, no canteen, no restaurant, nothing at all. You can only stay in your own room. Anyone booking a hotel should check in advance whether there’s a reception, a place to sit, or somewhere to eat—those are taken for granted. None of that exists here. The surroundings are also awful: on both sides of the building there are only ruins, and the immediate area is almost completely ruined. You’re forced to eat at the warung on the beach next door, the only realistic option, and the quality is mediocre. The photos show a room, a balcony, and the wave, but nothing of the surroundings. Before arrival we had direct contact with the manager, who is also the surf guide. He said nothing about what the place really looks like, and instead asked us to transfer 100 € for surf lessons in advance so the slots would be booked. We left again on the day of arrival. When we asked for a refund it was denied. We’ve been traveling in Indonesia and the Philippines for years and are used to a lot of things. We couldn’t stand this place for a single day. Anyone who comes just to surf and is willing to shuttle between the room, the warung, and the wave can manage; everyone else should stay away.
