“Staff was great and made up for the other things that the hotel lacked.”

The staff were amazing. When I checked out in the rain and didn’t have an umbrella, they handed me a rain coat and a cover for my backpack, which was thoughtful and something I’d never seen before; I had to walk to the convention center, so it was a big help. The location was perfect for the trip, just a short walk from the convention center. On the downside, the hallways had a strange odor, and my supposedly smoke‑free room still carried a distinct smell like someone had smoked there. The room’s cleanliness was okay, but the bathroom wasn’t; the tub looked poorly cleaned and had hair, which was gross and a major issue for me. Breakfast was very limited, with only four tables and a sign saying you couldn’t take it to your room.

“Hôtel très bien placé et agréable.”

The manager and almost all of the staff were adorable, caring, and helpful, always smiling! They’re close to the restaurants in Chinatown and the city center. The first night, a fire alarm went off after we’d been sleeping for about two hours (we were on a time‑zone shift), and we panicked in our pajamas. The front‑desk person just pointed to a door and stayed calm, giving no explanation. We didn’t understand it at first. It turned out to be a routine false alarm, and the manager scolded the staff.

“Fantastic for the price!”

The front‑desk team were super kind, polite, and helpful. The location in Chinatown was convenient, and even the parking attendant outside was friendly; parking cost only 35, which is great for Philly. The room wasn’t perfect, but at 85 dollars in Philly it far exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was clean, and there were no noisy neighbors. I was very happy with my stay. The only downside was a few cosmetic issues in the room, but you’re there to sleep, and it was 85 dollars.

The location and room amenities—fridge and microwave—are good, but the staff should try harder to understand people who speak basic English. I asked on the first day to discount a day because I was leaving one day early (7 days instead of 8) and they denied it, so I paid for the unused day. The reception isn’t staffed continuously.
