The spot is convenient and the price is decent, but the staff seemed indifferent—except for one friendly guy. We heard a family of rats loudly in the ceiling, which was unsettling. I showed up in the morning and there was no coffee, even though it was listed on the menu. Aside from those issues, the cost is fair and you don't have to climb a hill, but don't expect much else.

“Cute cabins right on the lake”

The lodge sits right on the lake, and every cabin has its own charm thanks to Guatemalan handicrafts. There were no complaints at all; I absolutely loved it.

The garden is gorgeous and faces the lake. The room is comfortable. The private dock is unusable because the lake is dirty and dangerous due to boat traffic, so we had to go to docks at the ends of the town to swim. We had no hot water for bathing. The staff called the owner and apologized, but nobody came to fix the water heater.

The location is as majestic as the staff are unpleasant. The place, the view, and the impeccably maintained garden are undeniable highlights. For everything else, we were disappointed by the reception. The smiles and hospitality of the front desk and kitchen staff are non‑existent, except for the chef who is friendly, smiling, and polite. The rest of the team does not try to be accommodating; we felt like a nuisance every time we asked for something. Restaurant service is slow, except for the evening service where we order in advance to avoid waiting. We waited 50 minutes for breakfast one morning. The food is good but far too expensive compared to nearby restaurants. They also impose a mandatory 10% service charge on every meal, plus an additional 5% fee if you pay by card, and these extra fees are not disclosed beforehand. We ended up taking our last three meals at the restaurant across the street, which is cheaper and warmer. On top of that, there were large spiders in our room. We stayed three nights with a stunning view, but the atmosphere ruined the charm of a place with great potential—disappointing.
