The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and professional, making this a great place to stay. I had a meal at the hotel that was both tasty and well priced, and I would definitely book again.

The hotel was excellent and situated in a great spot; free parking was a bonus. The room was fantastic for the price we paid, and breakfast was lovely with a wide selection. No negatives.

The hotel sits right in the market square, so Devizes was instantly accessible for me, and the flat terrain is handy for a wheelchair user. There’s decent accessible parking at the front and a rear car park with good capacity, though I didn’t need it. The staff were friendly, warm and accommodating, especially Claire, who made me feel looked after from start to finish. I’d return in a heartbeat. My accessible room, reachable via a lift, met all my needs and the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. Because the pub is a Grade 2 listed building, don’t expect perfect modern accessibility—there are a few wide steps to the breakfast room—but the staff work hard to help wheelchair users, even providing temporary ramps as needed. I heard from the staff that some guests complain about nighttime noise since the pub sits on the market square, yet even on a Saturday I slept well and heard nothing. Perhaps I was lucky with the room or the local behaviour that night. If you book a hotel right on the market square in a Wiltshire market town, be prepared to be in the middle of the action and accept the possible consequences. The veggie breakfast on Sunday was delicious, and the staff responded to all requests. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would gladly book at The Bear again. Thank you.
