“Disappointing 😞”
The location was close to where I needed to be. After more than 35 years of staying here, it’s genuinely disappointing to see how much the hotel has fallen. The rooms are now very outdated and need refurbishment. The pillows were like rocks, and the shower had barely any pressure, with the temperature swinging from scorching hot to cold. Breakfast was a major let‑down: it took over an hour for a cooked breakfast to arrive, which is simply too long. There also appears to be a serious staffing problem, as the pub was actually closed on Friday evening because of staff shortages. I’ve known this place for a very long time and remember when it used to be genuinely good. Unfortunately, standards have dropped considerably, and the whole place now feels tired and poorly managed. It’s a real shame to see a place I’ve visited for more than 35 years take such a dive.
