The quiet and the beach proximity were positives, and the meals were excellent, but the isolation was a problem because there is no transportation or bikes. Ilona was not very available or friendly, and we received no information about shopping options; we could only leave the lodge at Ilona’s discretion. We also wanted to know beforehand that there is no hot water in the bungalows, and the kitchen offered no real cooking facilities. The description of our bungalow (or cabin) on the site did not match what we got.

The surroundings on Motu were beautiful, the host was very friendly and could cook wonderfully, and she spoke excellent English! The little house was also very pretty.

Ilona, the manager, is an amazing woman. We were the only guests at the lodge, and she spent time sharing her life and anecdotes, which was a real pleasure. Because the lodge is far from Tiputa, the environment is very quiet, which is a real plus if you want to isolate for a while. It feels like being on a deserted island! You should plan to shop before arriving or ask to be taken to the village for a fee, as there is no snack or store nearby. There is no Wi‑Fi, even in common areas.
