Hotel Slipway

The sea views justify the extra cost, the Slipway setting is great, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The staff are nice and friendly.

“I’ll be choosing a different resort next time that provides professional service.”

Because of a scheduled event in the pool area, the swimming pool was closed to paying guests. Breakfast service fell far below industry standards; compensation and an apology are warranted, and proper staff training is needed.

“A wonderful place to stay in DAR.”

The location on the Msasani peninsula is perfect, with shops, banks, and restaurants in the same complex. The clever architecture with open spaces gives a constant fresh‑air feel. The balcony offered a stunning sea view, and the staff from reception to restaurant and housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in an open‑air area was wonderful, and the A/C worked well, even allowing us to turn it off entirely if desired.

It was okay. I was extremely disappointed with the breakfast, which was almost identical each day and lacked variety. The staff seemed poorly trained and didn’t show the professionalism expected at this level. Worse, we were told that my wife and I could not use the pool on 26 September because the hotel hosted Tanzania Fashion Day. I understand private events happen, but denying paying guests access to a key facility for an entire day should have been communicated beforehand, and we deserved some compensation or a partial refund. We chose this hotel to enjoy its amenities, and losing a full day of the holiday was unacceptable and below the standard we expected. Management should address this seriously and offer a suitable explanation and compensation.

“Perfectly central”

The central location was great, and there was so much to do just downstairs from the room.
