“Absolutely the Tuscan country stay we were looking for”
Perfect! If you want an authentic Tuscan hilltop experience, La Rimbecca is the place. The apartment was fantastic, Valentina’s breakfast each morning was a 10/10, and her cappuccinos were equally great. The road can be treacherous, but after a few tries it’s doable; we drove a tiny Fiat 500 up and down about 12 times in 4 days.
Magnificent place and the staff were extremely friendly.
The stay was overall pleasant, and everything else was perfectly fine. The property is beautiful and the room was comfortable. Unfortunately, our arrival was not a very welcoming experience. We were simply very hungry and tired after the journey, and when we asked the man at reception (the owner I guess) whether they also served food, instead of simply explaining that there was no restaurant, he responded in a rather argumentative and dismissive way, saying that we had not come to a restaurant but to sleep. He then raised his voice at us and accused us of already being dissatisfied with the property, claiming that he could see it on our faces from the moment we walked through the door. This was simply not true. We were tired and hungry, nothing more. We had no negative feelings about the property at all. Rather than simply answering our question, he seemed determined to "rimbeccare" us and argue with us. A more welcoming and understanding attitude would have made a much better first impression. The breakfast was ok with and the lady serving it was genuinely kind and welcoming. Her warm and friendly attitude was a lovely contrast to our experience at reception. Apart from this unpleasant interaction at arrival, everything else was fine and we enjoyed our stay. The owner's attitude
“Lovely hosts, great breakfast, beautiful pool and view.”
The hosts were lovely and the property very nice. The gravel road is no joke, and although you can order from a local pizza place, there are no walkable eateries, so you’ll have to tackle that road again if you return home between lunch and dinner.
“Unser Aufenthalt war sehr erholsam, die Schotterstraße zur Unterkunft - eine Herausforderung”
Great breakfast, warm hosts, nice pool, the free‑roaming chickens were very friendly, and the location was quiet. The almost 2‑kilometer access road is a gravel path with holes; a higher‑grounded car is recommended.
