The room matched my expectations: simple, comfortable and clean with a private bathroom and shower, a TV that only showed Hungarian channels, and a convenient location close to Szilvásvárad and about 20 minutes from Eger, plus free parking at the door and a nearby supermarket; the motel’s kitchen was very basic—no cooking facilities, just a microwave, kettle and a fridge for storage, and there was a laundry area whose guest access was unclear; the atmosphere was quiet with no noise from other rooms, and ongoing thermal‑insulation renovations should improve things, although the garden with picnic tables was off‑limits because of the work; there was no reception, I checked in online and kept in touch with the manager Linda via WhatsApp, who was always reachable. The Wi‑Fi was problematic: initially there was no signal anywhere, after some persistence we got coverage in the hallway and kitchen but never in the room; Linda kept trying to fix it, possibly hindered by scaffolding around the building that also prevented us from opening windows, making the rooms hot and keeping construction dust out, so I expect it’ll be better after the works; I’d suggest dark curtains or blinds because the sun rose early and woke me at 5 am, and a garden clothes‑line would be handy.

Parking was available on the premises and the room had a fridge, but the Wi‑Fi only worked near the stairs and not in the room, the kitchen lacked a stove, there was only one soup bowl, the toilet seat was taped with duct‑tape and was loose, there was mold on the wall between bathroom and bedroom, the building was under scaffolding—told eight minutes before arrival—causing dust and no ventilation, the garden was unusable because it stored building materials, no apology or compensation was offered, no option to cancel with a refund or find alternative lodging, street‑facing windows let in noticeable noise, and the towels were poorly dried and smelled musty.

The motel is very close to the national park, and there is also a restaurant, a small supermarket and a bakery nearby. The address listed on Booking does not match; the motel is further from the village center, in front of the clinic. The photos on Booking are very outdated. The outdoor area is almost non‑existent. The motel is currently being renovated. Wi‑Fi does not work. The common areas are unclean and smell musty. The beds feel like every spring is exposed – very uncomfortable. The room, including the bathroom, urgently needs renovation. Access to the motel is via a key box that is not locked (the dial lock is broken).

I was annoyed by the street noise during my stay.
