“Overall a wonderful Stay”

The property by the lake is gorgeous, the views are spectacular, our room was very comfortable and beautifully furnished, and the staff were accommodating and helpful, but the breakfast buffet was thin, the food was decent but nothing special, the afternoon tea was lovely but outrageously pricey, we were handed champagne that we had to pay for, and the hotel’s remoteness forces you to stay in their restaurant if you don’t have a car.

“Incredibly beautiful property with gorgeous rooms--a wonderful place to spend some time!”

The whole team was super friendly and helpful, and our room was incredibly cozy with a breathtaking view. Breakfast was tasty and offered a wide variety of choices. We also enjoyed a morning cruise on the Langdale Chase Albatross, which was fantastic; the captain and crew shared stories about local homes, legends, lake areas, and the boat’s history, making the trip even more enjoyable. The location made it easy to explore the Lake District. We had an amazing week in Langdale and would definitely recommend it! On the downside, one male staff member consistently placed guests at tables without a view even when view‑seating was available. It felt like he was reserving the best spots for VIPs. It would be nicer to seat everyone at a beautiful table with a view if possible, even if it means a short wait for cleaning. We were seated at a non‑view table on at least two occasions despite view tables being free, which seemed unwelcoming for a week‑long stay at Langdale.

The location is arguably the most picturesque spot in the Lake District, just a stone’s throw from Lake Windermere. The only thing that could improve our experience would be adding a spa or pool facility.
