Forest Lodge Hotel

The bedding was excellent, and the location is even though it’s surrounded by houses. The front desk staff were very friendly. The pub was 50 m away, and fortunately we could dine there. The hotel was mainly chosen for its restaurant and breakfast. At 17 h we were asked if we planned to dine on site at 18:30, and we were told there was no chef that evening, so dining on site was impossible. The breakfast was similar—no chef, no hot dishes, and stale croissants—very disappointed.

“Period property boarding needing refurbishment”

Our bathroom blind was broken room 33 cracked wall stain on carpet and on Wednesday morning at 0451. A collection of waste bottles was collected and woke the whole hotel up

“Overall does this job.”

The location is excellent, conveniently positioned for driving to Poulton Park. I liked the reading area for some quiet time. The staff could be a bit friendlier, and breakfast could be improved. No housekeeping was offered, and considering the daily rate we expected at least a towel change.

The shower room had weak water pressure and a very small flow; the mattress collapsed badly, so lying down felt like dropping into a pit.

“Good location, disappointing hotel.”

The pool added a nice touch, and Kelly in the breakfast room was fantastic, but the room was cramped, the whole hotel felt a bit tired, and it wasn’t worth the money we paid.
