From the first minute we felt at home; Jens, our host, had everything set up perfectly and gave us the best tips, greeting us with flowers, wine, and a lovely card, so we highly recommend his flat and will definitely stay with Jens again if we head back to Cape Town. It was perfect.

The house feels designed with Feng Shui in mind, offering a soothing and comfortable environment; the studio rooms are thoughtfully arranged so that all needs are within a single open space. The bathtubs are among the best in CT, letting you soak while watching the sunset over Hout Bay valley and the mountains, then step onto your private terrace to braai and sip a cocktail. With only three studios, it’s ideal for long‑term stays in a quiet, tranquil setting, and the overall décor blends antique and modern furniture in a unique way. The only downside is that you’ll need a car or Uber; walking down the mountain into town is possible, but the uphill return is too steep, and carrying a heavy suitcase up the stairs to the guest floor (where the owner lives) is a challenge.

The location is unbeatable, offering privacy and secure parking, and the host is wonderful, even leaving a handwritten note and a bottle of fine red wine. The place is thoughtfully equipped, though the bath/shower water wasn’t hot enough for my taste, and adding a frying pan to the kitchenette would be a nice touch.
