I want to thank Mrs. Graça for her friendliness and availability, and the location is perfect for a well-deserved break. Simple. The only issue was the access to the house, but we were informed about it in advance.

The house does not match the description at all: it claims to have a microwave, washing machine, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron, radio, fridge, etc., but none of those are available. The access is through a narrow, winding, 2.5 km dirt path full of potholes and bushes, which is extremely difficult for city cars—only suitable for SUVs or open‑top vans. Additionally, there is no mobile coverage, the Wi‑Fi is terrible, the house is full of spider webs, the switches and some walls are filthy, the sink and lavatory clog easily, only two appliances can run at once or the circuit will trip, the “pool” was a tank full of leaves and sludge, the window screens are all broken or have holes so insects can get in, the courtyard is a passageway filled with feral cats that the host feeds and that litter the area, the tables and hammock are dirty, and the breakfast that was supposedly included is unreliable because the village baker has no fixed arrival time, so you never know when you’ll get it.

“Uma casa pitoresca, bem localizada, ideal para desligar do dia a dia.”

We had a wonderful stay; the house is very picturesque and fully integrated into the landscape, clean, and equipped with all the necessities for a pleasant evening inside or outside. The same goes for the tank. We were warmly welcomed and cared for by Graça, who treated us to a lovely breakfast and all the small needs we had. Because the houses are inside the natural park, it’s easy to walk to the river for relaxation or take a quick trip to the beach. The only drawback is the access: the dirt road has some potholes, but the rustic feel makes the arrival more spectacular and the sense of disconnect from the world more evident.

“Sem condições”

The fact that it’s so immersed in nature is a plus. The path to get there is scary; normal city cars will hit the lower part along the way. We stayed in the orchard house. The smell of the house was the most annoying thing. The lack of windows or ventilation, even in the bathroom, makes the place smell moldy. The sink doesn’t work at all; the slightest amount of water clogs it, forcing us to wash dishes with the hose. Kitchen utensils are very limited; the Wi‑Fi barely works—only a few WhatsApp messages could be sent. The amount of spider webs is excessive; while we understand that rural houses tend to have them, the quantity and size, especially on the ceiling, show they haven’t been cleaned in a long time. The overall dirtiness was very disappointing: under the bed was not clean at all; we closed the window shutters and when we opened them, a huge amount of dirt fell onto the bed; the bathroom extractor was filthy; the barbecue grill was full of other guests’ meat remains; you can’t have more than one appliance on at once; the fridge in the bedroom is very noisy, disturbing sleep at night; the bed is old and very noisy. We can’t understand how a place we paid €250 for two nights could be in these conditions. We left after the first night. Even after reporting the situation, the host refused to refund part of our money.
