“War okay für eine Nacht”

The fridge on the ground floor stocked drinks and sweets. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on Saturday and Sunday, and breakfast was also missing on Monday mornings; we were just passing through and booked on short notice.

Breakfast is excellent. A lady prepares everything upon request. You can have a lunch box assembled to take away. Dinner is also very good – German cuisine. Beware that you won’t be assigned the attic room; it has a very low ceiling and gets hot in summer. The beds are separate and cannot be joined together.

The only positive thing was the proximity to the highway, but even for a basic worker’s room the apartment feels too spartan. The whole building housing the apartments is grimy and lacks any loving decoration. The amenities are insufficient—there isn’t even a simple coffee maker. The dishes look scavenged: one glass, a couple of glass teacups, two mugs and a few plates. The kettle is hazardous; hot water spilled sideways when poured and it smelled of burnt plastic when turned on. The property sits right on a busy road, so we couldn’t sleep with the windows open—it was very noisy. The highlight was the sponge shaped like a doll used for washing dishes, which seemed like a joke. The brewery and restaurant were closed over the weekend, which we also didn’t like.

“Günstiges, praktisches ruhiges Quartier, netter Empfang, familiär.”

A friendly atmosphere, very quiet location, clean and cozy. The small single room was adequately sized and equipped, and the three‑bedroom apartment with a tiny kitchenette was also practical.
