The bed was comfortable, but the room was awkward and the skylights opened onto cooking‑fat smells; the bathroom was shabby and the place seemed in need of a lot of TLC. There was litter all around the front of the building and the staff were not very friendly.

The place was clean, but the rooms stayed cold because there was no central heating, and some staff were quite rude and had a poor attitude.

The staff were excellent and very friendly, the food was really good, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant; the location was a bit remote, but I knew that before booking, so it wasn’t an issue for me, though it might be for others.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and family rooms were available, yet there was no potable water in the rooms—free water bottles were supplied, but that would have been a deal breaker if we’d known earlier. The mattresses were very firm and uncomfortable, and it was hard to find the hotel, especially at night, because Google navigation didn’t work well in that area; we even ended up on an access road to a landfill and had trouble turning back.

The setting was lovely and the staff were excellent, but I stayed in a deluxe double and the mattress was uncomfortable; I could feel all the springs and didn’t sleep well.
