I could finally have a private space near the hospital. At first, I couldn’t lift my heavy suitcase up the steep stairs on my own, so I left it down and a kind staff member noticed and brought it to my room. The first floor is a café, so it was unclear who was the official front‑desk person during check‑in and check‑out, but every staff member was friendly. The fridge had a musty smell the moment I opened it, the duvet cover was stained, the floor had dust, and there were long hairs that probably belonged to the previous guest; when I had to take my shoes off on the stairs, those hairs stuck to my feet. The sink had toothpaste stuck to it, and overall the room felt unclean. At night, early morning, and on weekends the gate was locked for the whole day, and I had to open and close the heavy lock myself, which was a bit of a hassle.
