The Crown Post is in a great central spot on the market square and the kitchen and food are good, but you’d be better off staying elsewhere to sleep; the room was tiny and very basic with just a bed, wardrobe and TV, the furnishings looked past their prime, the bed was unbearable, summer nights were sleepless past midnight, and the external ventilation could be heard inside the rooms. I booked two nights, cancelled after the first, and checked out.

A cozy hotel in a small village with old‑world charm and beautiful countryside, though some décor was dated and the room Wi‑Fi was subpar.

The location is ideal if you want to head to the Wasserkuppe like I do as a model pilot, and I like the rustic farmhouse vibe. The room is small, only equipped with the bare essentials, and there was dust and dead insects; the windows weren't cleaned. The breakfast was very scanty for €10, with no question asked about my preferences—just a pre‑made plate was set out, and no offer for extras was made.
