“Great weekend”
The spot is perfect, the place is spotless and everyone is super helpful.
“Needed somewhere to stay over for work and can put up with some inconvenience, so no problem.”
The location was ideal and the staff were nice and communicative. No dinner was included. Breakfast didn’t start until 09:00 and it cost extra. The room felt worn. The road was noisy and it was very hot even with the window closed.
“STAY AWAY”
I don’t have much to say I liked. The experience was awful. I understand this is a cheaper hotel, but it was still too much. When we first got there, the lady who checked us in said we hadn’t paid even though we had, and luckily I had proof. She was then quite rude afterward, she gave us some drinks and it seemed like it was her first day. The room was on the side with the main road, so opening the windows was unavoidable. They did provide a fan, but it squeaked the whole time so it was useless overnight. The bathroom was very dirty and clearly needs maintenance. The next morning the milk had gone off and the mugs were all dirty. I really didn’t enjoy this stay at all and would not recommend it.

The location was spot on for visiting Wantage, which was my main reason for staying. The pub in the countryside was friendly and the parking was great. It sits on the A338, the main road to Wantage and a quick drive to Oxford. The food options are limited to late-ish breakfast and lunch, but Wantage offers plenty of choices within a 5‑minute drive or a nice walk. Curtains blocked all the traffic light. The room was tidy and had everything needed. The staff were friendly and the pub itself was quiet. (There’s a door to a car wash if you need it.)

Good menu and great breakfast, good parking, clean room, nice bedding, friendly and efficient staff, nice bar and dining area with lovely atmosphere and outside seating, handy location for us. Bedroom window couldn't be fully shut so it was a bit noisy next to the busy road, only one bath towel provided for 2 of us and by the time we noticed it was too late at night to ask for another
