I’m still looking for positives. The building’s door was closed during the reception period, the hallways were a mess, the room’s equipment was weak, a peephole was missing letting light in, and the pastries and bread were only average quality.

The location is nice, just over the road from the river. Breakfast had no real choice—only orange juice, tea/coffee, croissant, and pain au chocolat. Though these were fresh, warm, and tasty.

Dinner was good quality, but breakfast was sparse—no fruit, no yoghurt, no bread, and jam only when asked. We liked the village. The welcome was nonexistent, and after we pointed out several bedroom issues, service was reluctant. There were no bedside lamps, the air‑con didn’t work until new batteries were supplied, only a thin cotton curtain on the window so the room was very warm and we had to cover it with a shirt to block the light. No soap on the basin, only one water glass, the duvet cover was crumpled. On the landing outside our room a large cleaning trolley had been left, and there was a lot of debris around, very messy. We understand there might be ongoing work, but the entry area and the space near our bedroom should have been kept clear for safety and appearance. In the morning the staff was barely polite, offered no pleasantries before letting us leave at departure. We now see other reviews mention similar complaints, and they still appear unresolved.

The hotel has a fantastic restaurant and free parking right outside. The AC works very well. The spot is beautiful, right by the river and at the base of the cliffs. The staff were friendly and the breakfast felt cozy with good bread. We definitely recommend dining at the restaurant. The room layout was a bit quirky but functional, so keep the windows closed after sunset. Because the hotel is near the river, there are many mosquitoes, but the windows keep them out.
