Riva del Sole

The accommodation was in a great spot, everything within walking distance, the city was beautiful, the beach was 600 m instead of 1.1 km, and there was about a 100 m elevation difference, which made the walk pleasant; the cleaner was very kind, and our host checked in every day to see if we needed anything. The lift only worked with a separate key and it was a hassle to get into the room with many heavy bags; the shower was cramped because it was installed on the long wall, so there wasn’t enough space to kneel, but the bathroom was clean. The mattress was uncomfortable and sagged; the bedding was clean, although we found a lot of foreign hair on it after arrival. It would have been nice to have a chair at the table, but there wasn’t one.

The location was good, contact with the owner was easy, cleanliness was maintained, there was a hair dryer, and a fridge; additional hooks for towels would have been nice.

“Perfect for staying close to the center, but far from the noises.”

Only 5 minutes away from the train station and the city centre; the room was nicely renovated and clean. A small coffee machine in the room would have been great since the nearest bar is in the centre, but otherwise everything was perfect.

“Not bad but too expensive for all the cons”

The staff were pleasant and kind, the location was good, cheaper than most but not cheap, the furniture was new, the place was clean and we were offered regular cleaning, and the AC worked well. However, we received the smallest room with two tiny windows near the ceiling without insect nets, so there was no natural light; hot water was missing most of the time, likely because other guests had used up the boiler. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable; cleaning used old supplies/solutions and smelled awful for a few hours. The walls were paper‑thin and the neighbors (not other guests) were extremely loud—pianos, opera singing, moving furniture every evening—so if you’re a light sleeper, beware. Other nitpicks: no toilet paper holder, no shampoo and soap holder in the shower, no place to dry clothes, no chair, no desk as shown in the picture.
