“Beautiful location, lovely sunny aspect, birdsong”
The place is gorgeous, with a sunny view and birdsong. I stayed during a scorching day and opening both doors to the patio was fantastic, as was strolling along the river. The lodge had a great vibe, and chatting with the goat group in the mornings was a real highlight :-) I’d recommend it. The only drawbacks won’t stop me from returning, but I’ll share them as constructive feedback: the sunny side and glass front make the interior very warm, and it’s hard to get a draft (an electric fan was offered). The kitchen is decent but could be better: there’s a pod coffee machine but no other coffee option. Crockery lacks items like pasta/ramen bowls for big salads, pasta, or noodles, and there were no beer glasses (only champagne flutes). Also missing a large wooden spoon or spatula, which are my go‑to tools. The outdoor area is private (assuming neighbors don’t wander onto the lawn), but sound travels between lodges, so if you want quiet and neighbors are into a hot‑tub disco vibe, you’ll notice it.
