The room was large with a big bed, a big balcony, and an exceptional view; the staff were attentive and very responsive, making for a good stay. However, the room wasn’t well insulated against the noise from the chairs on the floor above, there was no dish kit (no sponge, no dish soap, no trash bag), and the breakfast could use some improvement.

The location was outstanding, the breakfast was excellent and the dinner was also good. For the price you pay, everything is fine; I liked everything.

The rooms were beautiful and spacious, each with a balcony that offered a great view. The downside was the steep hill you have to walk up with your suitcase, the parking was always full, and there was no outlet next to the bed – a small drawback.

The setting was quiet, the staff friendly, and the rooms clean. There was no air conditioning, so the rooms got hot; the outdoor pool was ice‑cold, there were too few outlets in the rooms, the water pressure and temperature in the bathroom were poor, the antique mixing taps were a problem, the whirlpool was broken, the kitchen was minimalist, the fridge was loud, the rooms were noisy, parking was an issue, the furnishings were outdated, and breakfast was bland.

Almost everything was perfect. The setting was charming, with an incredibly beautiful descent to the sea via the Pol do Mar trail and its 540 D+ or 540 D- over 1.8 km, averaging 30 %. The chef cooked tasty dishes. But for a 4‑star, there was no air conditioning, and because of the heat, opening the large bay window let mosquitoes in despite the anti‑mosquito plugs. The reception had no fan, so I would suggest the hotel managers (if they want to avoid criticism and sleepless nights for their guests) install a ceiling fan in each room – far cheaper than installing air conditioning.
