Very good breakfast with everything you could want. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We liked everything very much. If you’re in Meiningen, go to the Knasthaus!

“Originelles und preiswertes Hotel in sehr guter Lage”

The hotel sits in a former prison with some very small cells that required unusual layouts and fittings. A roof‑top was added to the old building, where breakfast is served and a surrounding balcony offers a great panoramic view of the city and surroundings. The breakfast spread is very good and tasty. Communication before and during the stay was excellent: I could cancel a room at short notice for free, and despite the tight situation we still managed to get a parking spot. Because the rooms are so small, you can only stay outside the rooms with several people, and the options are somewhat limited. Unfortunately there was no way to use the top floor or the roof terrace in the evening (which in autumn wouldn’t have been very cozy either).
