The place was pretty nice, room clean, bathroom classic. But we stayed in a loft of an old mill, so the window was tiny and no AC – I get the historic vibe. The dining area looked like 1850, a bit cramped but people shuffled through for breakfast. I’m not sure if it was okay to bring dogs into the dining room – some guests had them sit next to the chairs, and when a family with kids came, they had to wait for a spot.

The cabins felt like a fairy tale, with manicured flower beds around them. The kids’ playground was great, and breakfast and dinner were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a good base for day trips on foot or car. Dogs were welcome too.

The dog fee was pretty steep, but a week ago at Relax Pension Schönwald we paid 300 CZK per night, which feels more reasonable.
