The bathroom and shower were acceptable, and the room stayed quiet all night even though it was above a pub, probably because it was a mid‑week day. However, the room was filthy: skirting boards and carpet held a year’s worth of dust, a Twix wrapper lay in the bedside cabinet, paint was dirty with a nasal crust and hairs smeared on the wall, the mattress had frayed seams, the window blind was falling apart with holes, and the bedding and furniture were tatty. Lesson learned—always read prior reviews. Avoid this place; a cleaner, more spacious Holiday Inn room that includes breakfast is cheaper.

The staff who handled the key left at an unreasonable hour of 11 pm were great. They explained everything via email and the process went smoothly. I felt restless all night, though I’m not blaming the property; it just felt odd not seeing any physical staff during my visit. The wall charging points didn’t seem to work at all, and I tried both.
