“Nice place, overpriced. If you do stay there, I would suggest staying during the weekdays.”
The Audubon Hotel sits right in downtown, so walking to all the shops, museums, eateries, and bars is a breeze. The restaurant and bar were great, and the Beer Garden across the street with live music was also fun. The basement hosts the Midnight Slip, a venue for concerts, comedy, and liquor tastings. The price was the downside: two nights cost $500, so $250 a night. There are only seven rooms on the second floor, and we were the only ones there, so we got the best room, but it wasn’t worth it. We stayed over Labor Day weekend, and nothing happened; the hotel and restaurant/bar were closed on Sunday, the whole town shut down, and we had to use a key code to get into the hotel on Sunday—just the two of us in the whole building, which felt a bit creepy.
