“Well-located, good-value base with small but functional rooms”

The APA Hotel Namba Shinsaibashi sits right next to Shinsaibashi‑Suji Shopping Street, which made a one‑night visit perfect. We spent the day before check‑in exploring the area. The rooms were a bit small, but two connecting rooms made sense since I was traveling with my parents. Even with the limited size they had everything we needed, and there was plenty of space under the bed for suitcases, which was a big help. The hotel provided umbrellas, which was great because it was raining hard that day. Check‑in was fairly smooth. It’s automated, but some human involvement is still required, which made me wonder why an automated process exists at all instead of having humans handle everything. Breakfast was nothing special, but it was very comprehensive and more than we could have asked for at the price.

I stayed at APA hotels for most of my trip, and this was the only APA I probably didn’t love. When I asked if there was a place to smoke, I was told the closest spot would be the train station. Maybe supply the rooms with water? My shower dial kept slowly turning itself down. Just a few things didn’t gel with me, but the staff were lovely.
